Ligeret, a négociant house founded in 1832 and based in Nuits-St-Georges.

Located in eastern France, Bourgogne was shaped by medieval monks who meticulously mapped the area's countless terroirs. The region has turned terroir into an art form with its fine-meshed system of climats, where the limestone soils yield highly sought-after and elegant wines.

This specific wine holds an Appellation Contrôlée from Fixin, the northernmost area in the Côte de Nuits, situated immediately south of Marsannay and north of Gevrey-Chambertin. Covering the villages of Fixin and Brochon, the area is known as an underrated alternative to Gevrey-Chambertin. The vineyards are planted at altitudes between 350 and 380 meters on east to southeast-facing slopes, characterized by brown limestone soils mixed with marl and sandstone. Fixin produces almost exclusively red wine from Pinot Noir, alongside a small amount of white wine from Chardonnay, and is home to six Premier Cru Climats, including the well-known Clos Napoléon, Les Hervelets, and Les Arvelets.

A.
