Amarone della Valpolicella Terre di Verona 2005
The 2005 Amarone della Valpolicella from Terre di Verona is a Denominazione di Origine Controllata classified red wine originating from the Veneto region in northeastern Italy. Stretching from the Alps to the Adriatic Sea, Veneto is one of the country's most productive wine regions and the historical home of Valpolicella. Produced in the specific Valpolicella area just north of Verona, Amarone stands as the signature wine of the region and is widely recognized as one of Italy's most iconic red wines.
This vintage is crafted from a blend of Corvina Veronese, Rondinella, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Rondinella is a traditional Venetian grape deeply rooted in the Veneto and Valpolicella areas, frequently utilized in the production of local wines. It is complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon, one of the world's most renowned blue grapes, traditionally known for contributing to structured red wines. In accordance with the traditional production of Amarone, the grapes undergo the appassimento method, where they are carefully dried prior to fermentation.
The wine is bottled at 14.5% alcohol by volume and features a residual sugar level of 5 grams per liter.
