Joseph Drouhin is one of Burgundy's most renowned wine houses, founded in 1880 in Beaune. Still family-owned in its fourth generation, the estate operates both as a négociant and a domaine, making it one of the most comprehensive actors in the region. The house manages over 80 hectares of vineyards across Burgundy, from Chablis in the north to the Mâconnais in the south, with a strong concentration in the Côte d'Or. Drouhin has also been a quiet but consistent pioneer of organic and biodynamic viticulture in a region where traditional practices have often held strong. The wines are bottled by Joseph Drouhin and aged in the historic cellars of the Kings of France and the Dukes of Burgundy. Furthermore, the family expanded their expertise to Oregon in 1987, establishing Domaine Drouhin in the Willamette Valley as one of the most serious French-American wine projects.
Burgundy, located in eastern France, was shaped by medieval monks who meticulously mapped the area's countless terroirs. The region has elevated terroir to an art form with its intricate system of climats, where limestone soils yield some of the world's most sought-after wines. This specific Appellation Contrôlée wine originates from Savigny-lès-Beaune, a communal AOC in the Côte de Beaune situated just north of the city of Beaune. Covering approximately 350 hectares, it is one of the largest communal appellations in the Côte de Beaune. The area features a continental climate and a distinctive topography, where a side valley creates two main exposures on limestone and clay soils. Savigny-lès-Beaune is widely recognized as an underrated communal appellation, offering an accessible source of elegant Pinot Noir, which accounts for about 90 percent of the area's production.

Storage
Store the bottle horizontally at 12–14°C and avoid direct sunlight, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations.
Opening
Allow the bottle to stand upright for 24–48 hours before opening to allow sediment to settle. Use a professional corkscrew and open carefully.
Enjoyment
Serve at 17–18°C and be patient – there is a great difference in how and how quickly wines open up when they are aerated.
